LOOK WHAT I FOUND! SATURDAY TREASURE HUNTING PAYS OFF

Back in the summer I came upon these treasures stacked on a trailer at a yearly family yard sell. Coated with dust and dotted with dirt wasp hives were the telltale signs of having been stored in an old barn.

There it was on the trailer with out pomp or circumstance. Dirt so thick that no one else noticed its' beauty. Fortunately for me!
A hump top china cabinet, Side Board, and an 8 foot Table with 6 chairs. All wood and just incredible to me.

No one in the whole family wanted the set I was told by the grandmother selling it. She had made sure to ask every one of them. So, there it was on a Texas lawn, baking in the sweltering July  sun.

She told me of the generations that had placed their feet under that table. (The family had begun packing things up as she told me a few stories about the set.)

I had made my offer and she accepted it because, she told me,
she could see that I wanted it. And that was very true. I WANTED IT! Sometimes, the fact that someone just wants something means a lot when it comes to matters of the heart. ..

Of the whole matching set there was only 1 chair broken. In these pics you see the entire set which after some minor repairs and elbow grease served my family guests for a great Christmas Dinner!

Friends this was indeed the find of the my treasure seeking so far. I paid $75.00 for this 93 year old dining room set! I was practically jumping up and down! I rarely spend over $20 on my weekend hunts but this one was the find!
A seasoned antique dealer has told me if  I were to re-sell I  would be able to get $750  easy. Treasure seekers that is 10X what I paid. Makes the hunt such a thrill, doesn't it? ( I don't mean to gloat just mean to say treasures are out there!)

I really have been enjoying the set! Even though my Shabby Nest is empty I still enjoy sitting down at a place setting for one and having my dinner. It is just so pretty! And all the more joy when family comes for dinner!

Not willing to sell it though. Having too much fun!
